Who?

Who am I?  Glad you asked.  I’m a 33 year old writer, sci-fi/horror mostly, who wants to help
OTHER writers in the quest for the “dream”,….That is, selling that novel, screenplay, article,
etc.

Aside from a few articles, I’m not really that well established, but don’t let that alarm you.  I’ve never claimed, and will never claim to be any different than most of the other members.  
The only difference between me and the next guy is a tiny bit of vision and a strong desire to
help people,….that practically borders on clinical co-dependancy.   (I’m not kidding   )

So,….what does this mean?  Well, it means that I’m here to help YOU chase the dream.  If
there’s something outside of my knowledge, then I’ll find it out.  If I can’t find it, then I’ll find
you someone who can.  My goal is to provide the kind of service and support I MYSELF was
looking for, 15 years ago.  I hope to save some of you from some of the hardships along this
journey.

What?

What is the “Writing Initiative”?  It’s a Not-For-Profit organization founded to help writers of
all ages, types and ability.  We will strive for Education, Inspiration and Collaboration.  We will
form a talent database listing writers, artists, film-makers, and actors (among others) so if you
need help or want to help, you can find someone in your area, doing what you want to do.  
There is already a YAHOO group in place with a preliminary database started.

Yearly membership dues will be $10 (dues waived for all screenwriting contest participants)
but you don’t HAVE to be a member to use the group’s services.  Some services may have
charges for non-members.  I’m also working on other various member discounts, so
membership WILL have it’s privileges.  I’m also working on developing some agent meet-and-
greets and workshops.  Please, feel free to tell me what YOU want/need out of this group.
