and what we do or are planning to do, the launch of the magazine and all the rules for
the screenwriting contest.
WELL, THAT was WEIRD. If anyone noticed, the site was down for about a
month,...got it fixed now, that's all that matters!! :D
It's that time of year!! This year's EXPO dates have been announced!! This year's
EXPO is Oct 15th-18th and is at the Wilshire Grand Hotel. Not heard yet, but I'm on
the short list to take pitches during PitchFest.
Mid-American Screenwriting Conference has been postponed, BUT, make plans to
attend our first (of many) visiting speaker workshops!!
Check out the new screenwriting tips section. Learn from other's mistakes!!
**HUGE NEWS** Can't talk about it (much) yet, but, we might be starting
pre-production on a contest entrant's script soon. I say "we" since I hooked up the
writer with the producer, plus I'm going to be Associate Producer (or somesuch) on the
movie. Wish us luck!!
Due to changes in some of the sponsorship packages, and the fact that I am woefully
behind in judging, a few of the contests will be combined. I am currently
reading/judging and hope to announce some winners very soon. I hope to be completely
caught up by the new deadline. Thank you for your patience.
The deadline for the GET INITIATIVE screenwriting contest is June 30th!! Good Luck
to all entrants!! We will be re-vamping the contest after this year. Rules pretty much
stayed the same, check out the "Contest" page on the navbar for details.
Every contestant will receive a waiver for this year's membership dues. The YAHOO
group is free to join, but the paid membership plans will have added benefits. Click on
the "Join" link on the navbar at the left. Check it out! The Yahoo group for the WI is
full of great info. There's a wealth of info just in the group's LINKS page alone. And
it's also the easiest way to access the group database.
